Some of our members from FLI, together with colleagues from Greifswald University, recently published a paper on the influence of scavengers in African Swine Fever spread in Scientific Reports. Using camera traps, they found out that scavengers represent a minor risk factor for spreading ASF, but may contribute to reducing local virus persistence by metabolizing infected carcasses.The full article is available on the journal website or in our Dissemination tab.
