The role of flies in ASF

Some of our members published two really interesting scientific papers in 2018, one in Veterinary Microbiology and one in Tansboundary and Emerging Diseases. Both show how stable flies (Stomoxys calcitrans) can be a vector for ASF in Europe. This result highlights the importance of insect control in biosecurity measures and shows how little details can make a difference for disease control.
