Do wild boar movements drive the spread of African Swine Fever?

Our WG2 leader, Tomasz Podgórski, together with Krzysztof Śmietanka recently published a paper on the effect of wild boar movement in the spread of African Swine Fever. The paper, published on Tansbundary and Emerging Diseases, surprisingly found no correlation between wild boar movement and ASF expansion pattern. The severity of the disease, which hampers animal mobility, is most likely the main cause of this observation. For more details please follow the link.
